You may have already heard, Beasts of the Southern Wild is coming back to theaters in the United States for a limited time starting TODAY.

Not only that, we're headed back to theaters across Australia, Poland and United Kingdom and continuing to spread the love in every pocket of the world. Check out the list below to see where we are or where we're headed.

Hungarian Beasts

Üdvözlünk titeket a Teknőben, magyarok!

Since our first public screening at the Sundance Film Festival back in January 2012, Beasts of the Southern Wild has screened in every continent on the planet with the exception of Antarctica.  We've had the pleasure of working with international distributors whose enthusiasm for Beasts we are forever grateful for.

Our friends in Hungary, Mozinet, will be releasing Beasts across the country on January 11, 2013. They began working on the release plan for the film last summer and quickly hatched a plan to convince one of the most influential art house cinemas in Budapest, Művész, to allow them to build a Beasts inspired installation in the theater's lobby.

In September, director Benh Zeitlin's visited Hungary for a screening of Beasts at the Cinefest Filmfestival in Miskolc, Eastern-Hungary. With a subtitled version of the film in hand, Mozinet hosted a private screening for the managers of the cinema, hoping they would be inspired to get behind the film.  Luckily, they were and gave the green light for an art installation to be built months ahead of the theatrical release.

The end result is this massive sculpture of an Auroch breaking through the Arctic iceberg.  The installation made of wood, straw, chicken wire and paper measures 3 meters tall, and weights 330lbs.

Magyar Vadak!

A Sundance Filmfesztiválon 2012 januárjában tartott első nyilvános vetítésünk óta, A messzi dél vadjai a Föld összes kontinensén bemutatkozott már, az Antarktiszt leszámítva. Nagy örömmel dolgoztunk együtt a forgalmazókkal, akik szerte a világban bemutatták a filmet, és akiknek a lelkesedéséért örökké hálásak lehetünk.

Magyar barátaink, a Mozinet stábja, 2013. január 10-én mutatja be országosan a filmet. Már tavaly nyáron elkezdtek a bemutatón dolgozni, és gyorsan össze is raktak egy tervet a Művész, a legnagyobb magyar art mozi meggyőzésére, hogy egy Vadak által inspirált  installációt helyezzenek el a mozi előterében.

Szeptemberben Benh Zeitlin rendező Magyarországra érkezett, amikor a Vadak szerepelt a miskolci Jameson Cinefest Filmfesztivál versenyprogramjában (ahol díjat is nyert). A Mozinet egy zártkörű vetítést tartott a Művész üzemeltetői részére a fesztivállal egyidőben, azt remélve, hogy őket is magával ragadja a film. A Vadak varázslatának természetesen a mozivezetők sem tudtak ellenállni és már a premier előtt 2 hónappal elkezdték építeni az installációt.

A végeredmény egy hatalmas szobor, amely azt a pillanatot örökíti meg, ahogy az egyik őstulok éppen kitör a jéghegyből. A műalkotás fából, szalmából, csirkehálóból és papírból készült, három méter magas és másfél mázsa.

Ha Te vagy valamelyik ismerősöd éppen Budapesten tartózkodsz, látogassátok meg ezt az őstulkot és küldjetek egy fotót róla! A fáradozásotok nem marad viszonzatlan, díjzazzuk majd a képeket. A fotókat a beasts@beastsofthesouthernwild.com címre küldjétek.

Beasts Across the World!

Beasts, we've been around the world and back, from the southern coast of Australia to the northern most island off of Norway.  We recently welcomed France and Belgium to the Bathtub. And this week, we're so excited to include Germany, Switzerland and Austria into the fold.

Whether you saw the film at an early screening or festival or are simply intrigued by the trailer, we hope you'll help us spread the word to your friends and family in the countries where the film is playing.  As you know, for a little / big movie like Beasts, word of mouth is the most powerful tool we have to gain awareness and we rely on supporters like you to help us on the ground.

¡Saludos! Mi nombre es Jaime. Acabo de unirme al equipo de alcance de Beasts of the Southern Wild como Coordinador de Alcance para compartir con ustedes una gran experiencia cinematográfica y traer la atención de los puertorriqueños acerca de la película.

Este viernes 23 de agosto tenemos el honor de estrenar Bestias del Sur Salvaje en el Fine Arts Popular Cinema Café en Hato Rey y Fine Arts Miramar Cinema Café en Miramar, Puerto Rico.

Aunque vivo lejos de mi tierra nativa, estoy muy orgulloso de compartir la poesía y magia de esta obra con toda mi familia en en la isla, invitándolos a que participen en una aventura única y un “verdadero tesoro” (Fernández-París / Especial El Nuevo Día) del cine.

Dear Fellow Beasts!

My name is Jaime. I've just joined the Beasts grassroots team as an Outreach Coordinator to help share this great cinematic experience with you and generate awareness about the film in Puerto Rico, where I'm from.

This Friday, August 23rd, we have the honor of presenting Beasts of the Southern Wild in the Fine Arts Popular Cinema Café and Fine Arts Miramar Cinema Café in Puerto Rico.

Although I live far from my homeland, I am proud to now have the opportunity to share the poetry and magic of this film with my family at home, inviting them to participate in a unique adventure and a “true treasure” (Fernández-París / Especial El Nuevo Día) of cinema.
